Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.
