From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Planners parties.
